“Once Upon a Mattress” New Bern Civic Theatre–
If you thought you knew the story of The Princess and The Pea, you may be in for a walloping surprise! Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you’ll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again. All shows begin at 8pm with Sunday matinees at 2pm.

Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series 9am - 4pm–
Entertaining and information-packed day on how to catch more & bigger salwater fish in NC, inshore & offshore, crammed full of the latest "how-to" & "where-to" information & techniques. New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.
January 8th
Irish Music Session Trent River Coffee Company, 7pm–
Held monthly since 1998, includes button accordion, fiddle, guitar & flute. Repertoire includes Irish jigs, reels, hornpipes & songs. Audience members welcome to sing along!
